God cares more about your spiritual health than your financial wealth

Almost 20 years ago I was more or less homeless. I was sleeping at a friend's apartment. I worked the graveyard shift. I actually had 2 jobs. One started at midnight and finished up around 4am. I then headed as quickly as possible to my second job which wrapped up around 8am. So, about the time I was getting off work in the morning, my friend was leaving for work. He let me sleep in his bed after he left work work. He was nice to let me sleep there. But, it wasn't really my apartment.

I had very little money. Neither one of my part-time jobs paid very well. In fact, there were plenty of meals that I skipped because I didn't have money to buy food.

Where was God in all of this? I was a Christian. I knew Jesus as my savior. What did God think of this time in my life? Why wasn't he blessing me? Why wasn't he filling my storehouses to overflowing? You may think I'm crazy. But, I think I was right where he wanted me to be. He was disciplining me. And, trust me ... I deserved it. At that time in my life, I wasn't living obediently.

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, ... Know
then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God
disciplines you. (Deuteronomy 8:3a, 5)

If you think that God is like Santa Claus, you're wrong. He doesn't exist solely to fill your wish list. He is more interested in your spiritual health than your financial wealth. Hmmm ... that rhymes. Cool.

It is good to see you have seen God through all of this. That is the blessing that God has given you. It is not about eartly wealth as so many people who call themselves Christian think it is. Our treasures are in heaven, not in this world. I see so many people think thier blessing are homes, cars etc. My blessing is God sent his Son to die for me while I was yet a sinner that I may have life with HIM.
May God richly Bless you with His loveingkindness.
